The buibui is an attire attached to Muslim religious values and its main aim is to ensure that Muslim women are properly covered so as not to attract men’s attention.

A cleric in Mombasa maintains the buibui attire should be black in color, made from heavy material and have no decorations at all but some buibui wearers think otherwise.

Middle and low class people must be getting used to the challenges that come with life by now.

 

Mombasa residents for instance spent the whole festive season without enough water.

Mombasa and Kilifi residents had to celebrate Christmas and New Year without enough clean water but they celebrated anyway.

Soil eating could be an eating disorder

In this generation of ‘watch what you eat’, some women are still addicted to soil eating.

The reasons for eating soil are numerous, ranging from nutritional deficiencies to cultural beliefs.

The substance is a precious commodity in Mombasa and after a recent shortage, women spent a lot of money in search of the soil.

Nyota Ndogo to remix her old song Chereko

The Love Band owned and managed by coastal artiste Nyota Ndogo is set to come up with a remix of the song Chereko by November this year.

Nyota Ndogo first recorded the song at the age of 17 and believes the remix will signify the growth she has experienced in the music industry since then.
