Hey y'all,
Yesternight as I was heading to Simmers I was arrested for, and please laugh at this, loitering with the intent to commit sexual immorality! Yes, I was arrested by the Police and City Council askaris for such trumped up charges. Luckily I bribed and was set free. They actually thought I was a sex worker! My, oh, my, I only wonder what sex workers, both male and female go through. The Police took my money, belt handcuffed me as we awaited the truck that would have transported me to the Central Police station. Luckily with the help of a 'real' male sex worker whom I know and who knew one of the arresting cops, I was able to part with some cash in order to be freed. The City Council askaris and the police were acting as a vice squad as they were arresting anybody who was seen to be in the company of anybody. Men with their wives and maybe an escort were arrested and taken to the station.
What made them think I was a sex worker? Because the thing was I wasn't dressed provocatively (I had on a pair of denims, open loafers and a shirt); I wasn't striking any seductive poses or hanging my 'boobs' and arse out and I definitely wasn't chasing after cars or any of that stuff. I was just walking alone. Maybe I was catwalking or sasheeing? I don't know. I had had a couple of shots in another bar and so was going to Simmers for a last drink then head home. Shock and horror on me!
Funny thing is that the arresting cop told the sex worker who helped me that he found me cute and I was sexy. So, instead of asking me nicely, he arrests me?! People, is this the Ice Age? Come tell me in a civilied way that you like me! He even went ahead to inquire if I could give him my number. Dude, you just took my money and scared the living Hell outta me and you want my number? Oh, Hell to the NO! C'mon, I know I am diva and all but a girl needs to be treated as girl!
This is just a summary of the on goings of yester night but I will write a full narrative and have it published to highlight police harassment and more so police harassment of sex workers!
