If you thought the Game had killed it last year when he allegedly downed two bottles of Vodka, you’d be dead wrong.
Convict label owner and lonely star Akon together with Wyclef Jean took the crown on Saturday after they stripped on stage and were left with boxers and trousers hanging on their legs.
It all started as a joke and before we knew it, things had gone from jokes to action. As men turned away from they called a repulsive sight, women were screaming their lungs off as their eyes feasted on the well built body of Wyclef and the fine body of Akon.
For some ladies it was too much, seeing them live on stage and more so having the privilege of see them in their boxers. A lady seated next to me screamed until she couldn't scream anymore and began using expressions; her face and eyes told it all, she looked stupefied.
Apart from showing the ladies why they drive them crazy, they showed us the other side of them that makes them stars. The Fugees star gave a sizzling performance. He was ushered in by Kenya top comedian Churchill who came in looking sleek in a fine silver suit. As expected he cracked up the crowd with some funny bathroom jokes.
Then the Mc of the big night was called up on stage, he performed “No Woman No Cry” which had some fine reggae tune to it, “911”, “Gone Till November” and the crowds favorite “Hips Don’t Lie”.
He was then joined on stage by the man of the moment Akon. The man headlining the event did not put up a good show considering the number of people who had shown up for the event.
“How could he come all the way to Kenya to lipsync”, said a furious fan.
His stunt of jumping to the crowd and singing while holding his fans hands did not quite do the trick.
I must commend Nameless for a job well done. Apart from bagging two major awards, the listener’s award and best male artist, the sunshine star gave a sizzling performance with his dancers. It was unquestionable how he got best male artist award.
The star studded event was well carried by the Mc Wyclef Jean; those who were there can back me up on this, he literally owned the event from the onset to the end.
Among the big winners of the night were, Nigeria superstar D'banj, Nameless, Amani, P-square and MI. Although our Kenyan rap diva STL and “Sweet Love” star Wahu did not take any award, their presence was felt at the event.
And although it sometimes felt like a recording because of the numerous takes, the event was worth the wait.
Sounds like fun!
